1. OBJECTIVES

1.1 Organized by Corixo Produções, the Campo Grande Int’l Short  Film Festival aims to exhibit, promote, disseminate, reflect on, and value  short film production in Brazil, in Mato Grosso do Sul, and worldwide,  presenting the current panorama of the audiovisual field and fostering dialogue between the productions, filmmakers, and the local community.

2. DATE AND LOCATION 

2.1 The second edition of the Campo Grande International Short Film Festival  will be held from October 26 to 31, 2026, in Campo Grande, Mato Grosso do Sul,  Brazil. 

 

 

3. SUBMISSIONS

3.1 Submissions will take place from May 1 to June 30, 2026. 

3.2 Submissions must be made through the following link: https://filmfreeway.com/ CurtaCampoGrande.  

3.3 Productions completed in 2025 or 2026 will be accepted, with a minimum  duration of 5 (five) minutes and a maximum of 30 (thirty) minutes, including credits. 

3.4 Information will be made available on the website   www.festivalcurtacampogrande.com and on the Festival’s social media channels.

3.5 All international films submitted must include English subtitles. 

 

 

4. COMPETITIVE AND PARALLEL SECTIONS

4.1 The Campo Grande International Short Film Festival will feature four competitive sections: Curta Brasil, Curta MS, Curta Internacional, and Curta Doc.

4.2 The Curta Brasil section will consist of Brazilian films, the Curta MS section of  works produced in Mato Grosso do Sul, the Curta Doc section will feature Brazilian  and Mato Grosso do Sul documentaries, and the Curta Internacional section will  consist of non-Brazilian films.

4.3 In addition to the competitive sections, parallel sections will also be  programmed.

 

 

5. FILM SELECTION AND CURATORIAL APPROACH

5.1 The Selection Committee will be composed of professionals with experience in  the field, appointed at the discretion of the Festival Organization, which will also  coordinate its activities.

5.2 The list of selected films will be announced by October 12, 2026, on the  Festival’s website and social media channels.

5.3 In addition to the films selected for the competitive sections, the Festival  Organization may also select films for parallel sections.

5.4 The Selection Committee will adopt the following guiding criteria for the  curatorial approach: a) technical quality; b) artistic quality; c) thematic relevance; d)  diversity; e) regional representation (for films in the national section).

5.5 Films that have not been previously screened in Campo Grande (MS),  including at festivals or public events in the city, will be prioritized.

5.6 Procedures for submitting screening copies of the selected short films and  promotional materials will be detailed upon notification of selection. However, we  emphasize that screening copies must be provided in high-definition digital format  (1920 X 1080 Full HD), and it is recommended that they include accessibility  features.  SOLE PARAGRAPH: The materials submitted for selection will not be returned and  will become part of the archives of the Festival and Corixo Produções, and may be  used exclusively for cultural purposes, with no commercial intent, for the promotion of  the Festival.

5.7 Selected international short films must provide screening copies with Portuguese subtitles.

 

6. AWARDS

6.1 The Jury will be responsible for awarding the selected short films screened  during the Festival and will be composed of professionals with recognized experience  in the cultural field.

6.2 The films selected for the Curta Brasil and Curta MS competitive sections will  compete for the Tuiuiú Trophy in the following categories:

  • Best National Fiction Short Film (Curta Brasil);

  • Best Mato Grosso do Sul Fiction Short Film (Curta MS);

  • Best Director;

  • Best Performance;

  • Best Screenplay;

  • Best Cinematography;

  • Best Art Direction;

  • Best Sound Design;

  • Best Editing .

6.3 The films selected for the Curta Doc section will compete for the award for Best Documentary Short Film, while the films selected for the Curta Internacional section  will compete for the award for Best International Short Film. 

6.4 The People’s Jury, composed of the audience attending the screenings, will  vote in the following categories:

  • Best National Fiction Short Film (Curta Brasil);

  • Best Mato Grosso do Sul Fiction Short Film (Curta MS);

  • Best Documentary Short Film (Curta Doc);

  • Best International Short Film (Curta Internacional).  

6.5 Decisions regarding selection and awards are final and not subject to appeal. 

 

 

7. OWNERSHIP OF THE WORKS

7.1 For all purposes set forth herein, the filmmaker and/or production company  declares that: (I) it holds, on a universal, irrevocable, and irreversible basis, all  economic rights to the Work; (II) it has obtained the rights to the image and sound of  all participants, as well as of any locations and/or objects appearing in the Work; (III)  it has obtained the rights or licenses to any texts and/or scripts that served as  inspiration for the Work; (IV) it has obtained the rights to any archival footage  appearing in the Work; (V) it has obtained the rights or licenses for the use of third  party information; and (VI) all rights related to the synchronization of the soundtrack  have been duly cleared and paid for.

7.2 In view of the above, the filmmaker and/or production company hereby  releases the Campo Grande International Short Film Festival from any liability arising  from or related to the subject matter of these regulations, undertaking to assume any  existing claims and to indemnify the Festival for any damages it may incur as a result  of the provisions set forth herein.  

 

 

8. GENERAL PROVISIONS

8.1 The Festival Organization shall not be responsible for covering accommodation,  transportation, or meal expenses of the filmmakers of the selected works during their  screenings at the Festival.  

8.2 By submitting a film to the Festival, filmmakers and production companies  automatically declare that they are aware of and agree to these Regulations.

8.3 Any situation not covered by these Regulations will be evaluated by the Festival  Organization, whose decision shall be final.
